BRANTFORD, ON- The Brantford 99ers are back in action tonight for the 1st half of a home & home double header against the Niagara Falls Canucks.
The 99ers had their 3-game win streak snapped on Monday night against the Georgetown Raiders, however not before making a comeback and tying the game with 5 seconds to spare to earn a critical point. Brantford now holds a record of 24-25-0-4, and with 3 games left on the season, they need at least 2 points to force the Patriots into a tiebreaker should Toronto win both of their remaining games, or 3 points to clinch the 8th and final playoff spot.
The Canucks have dropped their last 2 contests at the hands of Oakville and Burlington in 2 tight scoring affairs. Wolf Giles leads the team in points with 56 in 52 games played. Niagara Falls holds a record of 17-35-0-1 and have been mathematically eliminated from playoff contention, yet have still fought hard and earned victories against top teams this season, including both the Collingwood Blues and Trenton Golden Hawks.
