The King Rebellion are excited to announce Finn Dineen’s commitment to St. Thomas University, where he will compete in hockey program’s inaugural season in American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division II.
“Committing to STU means a lot to me. I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue both my education and hockey career. After talking with the staff and learning more about the program and school, I felt it was the right fit for me. I’m excited to be part of a great culture and thankful to everyone who helped me get to this point,” the forward explained.
The 6’1 forward spent the 2025-2026 season with the Rebellion recording four goals and five assists for nine points in 31 points. He learned a ton this past season and thankful to the whole ogranization.
“My time with the King Rebellion and in the OJHL has helped me grow a lot as both a player and a person. Playing against strong competition and being surrounded by great teammates, coaches, and staff taught me the importance of hard work, consistency, and accountability,” he stated. “I’m thankful for everything I learned during my time there, and I believe those experiences have prepared me well for the next level.”
He will be studying Business in the fall and is looking forward to challenging myself academically while continuing to develop as a hockey player.
“My main goal is to come in with a positive attitude, work hard every day, and do whatever I can to help the team succeed. I want to earn the trust of my coaches and teammates, continue improving my game. Above all, I want to contribute in any way I can and keep growing both on and off the ice.” Dineen said.
Prior to his time with King, Dineen played for the Toronto Marlboros U18 AAA of the GTHL. He posted 14 goals and 10 assists for 24 points in 34 games, while being selected to the GTHL U18 All-Star Game. Thanks to that season, he was selected 7th overall, by the Soo Grey Hounds in the 2025 OHL U18 Priority Selection.
This marks the second Rebellion from last season that has taken the next step on their career. Deacon King committed to Albertus Magnus College in late January.
