KING CITY, ON – The King City Rebellion are proud to announce the signing of 2008-born forward Matthew Airhart, adding another high-level talent to the club’s growing core of young prospects.
A native of Napanee, Ontario, Airhart spent the 2024-25 season with the Napanee Raiders of the Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL), where he played i 69-game season. Airhart tallied 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points, showcasing his playmaking ability, offensive upside, and reliability in key moments.
His strong performance and leadership qualities didn’t go unnoticed, as he was selected in the 5th round (102nd overall) in the 2024 OHL Priority Selection by the London Knights, one of the most storied franchises in the Ontario Hockey League.
Rebellion General Manager Jay De Gennaro shared his thoughts on the newest addition:
“We are very excited to add Matty to King. He has been a leader everywhere he has played and his competitiveness and commitment to playing the right way will be a huge addition for us. We are excited to work with him and continue to develop him into a very good 200ft player that can help us both offensively and defensively.”
With his strong character, work ethic, and all-around game, Airhart is expected to make an immediate impact on and off the ice.
