REBELLION MAKE MOVES AHEAD OF DEADLINE

The King Rebellion made four trades, bringing in five players ahead of the OJHL trade deadline on January 10 at 6pm.
The trades are as follows:
The Rebellion acquired Lucas Manikis from the Stouffville Spirit in exchange for forward Kyle Baston. The 2007 defenceman is in his second full season in the OJHL and is currently experiencing his best season, recording one goal and 25 assists for 26 points in 34 games. He was selected in the 10th round (195th overall) by the Flint Firebirds in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft.
King also acquired Deacon King from the Caledon Admirals in exchange for a Player Development Fee. The 2005 forward spent the last three seasons with the Admirals, registering 38 goals and 43 assists for 81 points in 133 games. This season, he has already set career highs with 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points in 35 games.
The Rebellion acquired forward Julius da Silva and a Player Development Fee from the Haliburton County Huskies in exchange for defenceman Ryan Fairbairn. The 2008 forward has made an impact in his first OJHL season, recording 13 goals and seven assists for 20 points in 33 games. He was recently drafted fifth overall by the Owen Sound Attack in the 2025 OHL U18 Priority Selection Draft.
King also acquired Lucas Preiano and forward Reggie Taylor from the Newmarket Hurricanes in exchange for forward Owen Bruining. Preiano, a 2006 defenceman, is currently in his second OJHL season and has already set career highs with four goals and 15 assists for 19 points in 36 games. Last season, he played 15 games with the Markham Royals, tallying two goals and two assists for four points. Taylor, a 2008 forward, has registered eight goals and six assists for 14 points in 37 games during his rookie OJHL season. He was selected 151st overall in the eighth round of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection Draft by the Guelph Storm.
The Rebellion also acquired forward Dylan Turcotte from the Stouffville Spirit in exchange for a Player Development Fee. The 2007 forward recorded 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in 32 games with the Spirit. He previously starred with the Ottawa Jr. Canadiens of the EOJHL, tallying 28 goals and 33 assists for 61 points in just 27 games. That season, he helped the team capture the EOJHL Championship and was named to the Rookie All-Star Team, Second All-Star Team, and Top Prospects of the Year. Turcotte was selected third overall by the Peterborough Petes in the 2024 OHL U18 Priority Selection Draft.
