BUFFALO, NY- The Brantford 99ers travelled to Buffalo on Wednesday night for a matchup against the Jr. Sabres. The goaltending would be a battle of the Aiden’s….Aiden Berry for Brantford and Aiden McKenna for Buffalo.

6:03 into the 1st period, 99ers defenseman Cam Hankai was called for interference, sending Brantford to the penalty kill. Buffalo originally thought they had scored, however the goal was called back as the net was dislodged prior to the puck crossing the line. The 2 teams went to their respective dressing rooms tied 0-0 after 20.

Just 26 seconds into the middle frame, Evin Kojokaro got the 99ers on the board 1st, after he wired a shot over the net, the puck bounced right back to him and he tapped in the rebound for his 6th goal of the season. Later in the period, Buffalo’s Tyler Isherwood stuck behind the 99ers defence and received a perfect pass on the stick from Michael Kull. Isherwood shifted to his backhand and fired the puck past Berry tying the game. The score after 40 minutes of play was 1-1.

Penalty trouble plagued the 99ers in the final period. Clearly frustrated, the Jr. Sabres jumped on the opportunity and scored just 1:26 into the period, and later added 1 more on a 5-on-3 man advantage. That would seal the game for Buffalo, taking the win by a score of 3-1.

The Brantford 99ers are back in action tomorrow night, hosting the Milton Menace at the Wayne Gretzky Centre. The puck drops at 7:30pm.
